The calm before the storm

August 31, 2013

Honestly, my world is spinning.  School has started.  That's easy enough to say, but for me it means homeschool (two subjects), NELCHA (Northeast Louisiana Homeschool Association: three subjects), and dual enrollment at Delta (one subject).  I'm going to be going around in circles between my two jobs: housecleaning and selling pecans.  I have this huge order of twelve pounds of cracked, shelled, and cleaned pecans.  To get get one pound of the finished product takes roughly two hours.  I'm working at a festival next weekend in Mississippi.  All this stuff has just piled up quickly- and this weekend is labor day weekend and I can't shake off the stress.  We are at our grandparents right now and... it's the calm before the storm.

So I'm busy.  What are you?

  1. THOSE SHOTS. lady, they are fabulous!!
i so know what you mean. i started school a few weeks ago and i was expecting things to slow down, but things have gone insane. #feelinyagirl

  2. I can totally empathize with you, Gabby.
I just moved about two weeks ago to a new city (two hours away from where I previously lived) and we still have boxes to unpack and things to organize, and the young ones have school starting in a few days- plus, I am job searching (fun)and I am awaiting my transcripts to be sent to the university I want to attend.
And feeling like I haven't gotten adequate sleep for the past 3 weeks-gah.
I know what you're talking about.

I hope you are enjoying the calm before the storm at your grandparents.

  3. This was how I was before the play. And even then, it wasn't too calm.
I've learned from one of our mutual red-headed friends that joy can be found in any and everything situation, so long as we look and savor the good. You're going to be fantastic at whatever you set your hands to, m'dear. Love you now, always, and forever and a day. We need to chat soon, m'kay? xx

  4. I love this.

I love how your blog is like a journal of sorts, somewhere where you open up to your hearts to readers and share personal life. It is good, really really good (and brave and honest and wonderful of you to do).

Also, these pictures just very well may be some of my favourites of yours ever. They're absolutely perfect and the tones (so suttle and yet sweet and soft) are brilliant.

  5. Very, very nice photos!
I can totally relate my life is pretty busy too with school work and I teach piano to 9 students ahhh!
Seems like summer was WAY to short!

  6. Oh my, Gabby girl. These shots are INCREDIBLE. Just so simple, but I have always had a fondness for maps, and globes. Perhaps it is my wandering heart speaking. :) UGH SCHOOL. Don't remind me, seriously. I started school yesterday, and I'm not sure how I feel about getting back to the grind of things. Ew. But, school is beneficial, and definitely necessary. Might as well make the best of it. And life? Well, life is always crazy. ;)

Hope you're doing well, dear! Grace and you and I need to have a group chat sometime. ;)

    Love you!

p.s. And thank you for your wonderfully sweet comment on my blog: they absolutely <3 yup.
